When I put together my
Penny costume for WonderCon, I made a Pennyblossom to go with it. (For non-Big Bang Theory watchers: in a second-season episode, Penny starts making sparkly flower barrettes, called Pennyblossoms, and wants to turn it into a business. The boys get involved, and hilarity ensues.) The show actually put up a fake
Pennyblossoms website, featuring the greatest gift you can give to an accuracy-obsessed costumer: a big, clear picture of the actual hair clip.
In order to buy enough supplies to make one Pennyblossom, I basically had to buy enough to make 20. So I decided to make a few from what I had left over and put them up for sale on Etsy. I figured they might be fun, subtly geeky things for people to wear, especially to something like Comic-Con or Dragon*Con.
So-- my store,
Bright Copper Penny, is open for business! :) The pictures below link to the different barrettes I currently have up. I have more flowers and rhinestones that I haven't made up yet, so I could do custom orders as well. Feel free to link around if you know someone who might be interested!
